Construction

These are a selection of photos showing the construction of our timber-framed cottage.  The external stud walls were constructed using 114x38 timber lengths, clad with shutter board & sisalation on the outside, Isotherm insulation then plasterboard on the inner walls.  The roof construction was made using 152x38 timber trusses, with sisalation & ISOboard ceiling insulation.  The outer shell was finished with corrugated zinc sheets to give the feel of the old colonial "Morris" kit houses imported into South Africa by the early settlers
